Part 8 of my Silent Hill Homecoming Walkthrough. I am currently in Silent Hill, however I don’t know whether I’m dreaming or if I am truely there. I get the fireaxe, find Josh and restore the power to the hotel. Next video is where the game begins to get interesting. On a side note. the freakiest part for me was the hell descent where i found a doll and i pressed A and then it said BEHIND YOU! and then i looked behind and there was a Smog (the monsters which puff black smoke)

If you pay attention to the underlying theme of the Boogeyman in Homecoming, you’ll notice an interesting correlation between that concept and how Pyramid Head is used here. Pyramid Head was also an idea born from Silent Hill’s executioners (SH2 shows this), and as he’s basically a physical manifestation of judgment — well, it makes sense to have him show up for the one character besides James who feels deserving of such cruel scrutiny.

For the lack of a better word, the metaphor-ness is most clear in SH2;
the most prominent example being yramid Head represents the protagonist’s masculinity/aggression (and is a recurring theme in following SH games, though its appearance in Homecoming is more of a cameo IMO). As to why it represents aggression, well, there is a certain cutscene you have to watch in SH2.

Pyramid head is from Silent Hill 2 and only makes sense with that specific story as only the main character James can see him. However he was thrown into the movie for fanservice. not sure why he showed up yet in this one but hoping they put some effort into him, other than his popularity. this is not made by the original team I would suggest playing the others first. if you want to know “what” he is play the 2nd one.

I wouldn’t say recurring. He had actual meaning in the second game. This game here is biting too much from the movie and is only cameoing him for the fans. Him being included in this game is absolutely unneccessary.

Silent Hill 2 is my favorite.

Gah! Smog scared me!
I think that the reason you keep the knife after the dream at the beginning of the game is because you already HAD a knife with you. That much makes sense. In a weird way, you were actually in the hospital’s Otherworld at the beginning after the initial dream sequence, since you are able to read memos and notes detailing things seemingly really at the hospital, like that one note saying how to kill the monsters. Your consciousness WAS actually materialized in the Otherworld at that point.
I think he was actually transported. Just like Mayor Bartlett. But the entity behind the phenomena at Silent Hill did it while you slept.
Alternatively, your consciousness was materialized in another part of the Fog World, and then the items you picked up were materialized when you returned to your real body afterwards for your benefit. After all, the goal of Silent Hill isn’t really to kill you. It’s to make you accept the truth and face your sins… or kill if you can’t as punishment.

LMFAO Those smogs are SOOOOO much easier to dispatch once you get far enough in to receive the crowbar to replace the led pipe. You don’t have to waste ammo shooting them, just bludgeon them to a pulp!! I use the crowbar more often than the knife now, lol.
