@cocacolafan971 I don’t know what Alone in the Dark you are talking about, but the one I played was a PC game released around 1993. And if you ever played it, you would know it came way before Resident Evil, it had polygonal graphics way worst than the first Lara Croft, it’s definitively older the Resident Evil man.

I don’t see why Resident Evil is referred to as this founder or pioneer of a genre. I understand it’s significance and what made it unique, but Alone in the Dark comes way before that and also put you in a horrific environment with low heal and ammo.

@BluePhantom101 It wasnt just the story that scared me about Silent Hill but running around in complete darkness in Silent Hill 1 was the most frightening thing id ever seen in a game. You feel like everything is watching you, and well RE doesnt do me justice, like SH does. I like RE for its action, but definitely not its horror.

@SilentHill201 ,that was very well said and is a very respectable opinion to me,however i believe that resident evil built most of the horror genre.it was the gameplay that scared you,not the story.I believe that if silent hill didn’t have its beyond eerie story,it wouldvn’t been as succesful

I will always choose Silent Hill over Resident Evil. To be honest, Silent Hill scared the bloody shit out of the Resident Evil series. RE was mearly the beginning, but SH improved on every aspect.
